Your information

Privacy policy.

How I look after your information when you visit this website or get in touch.

Last updated: 25 October 2026.

Who is responsible for your information?

I’m Jaye Rockett, operating as a sole trader. I’m the data controller for personal information used through this website, jayerockett.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact Use the contact form.

What information I collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, the business or brand name you choose to provide, the service you’re interested in, your message and any follow-up correspondence. The contact form sends these details to my email inbox; it does not keep a separate submissions database.
  • Technical information: the hosting service may record your IP address, browser and device information, the pages requested, request times, referring pages and errors in server or security logs. This helps the website run reliably and protects it from misuse.
  • Portfolio content: the website displays examples of my creative work, which may include photographs of identifiable people.

You don’t have to make an enquiry. If you use the form, your name, email address and message are needed so I can understand and reply; the business or brand field is optional. Please only include information relevant to your enquiry.

Why I use it, and the lawful bases

  • Discussing work you request (contract): when you ask me to take steps towards providing services to you, I use the information to take those steps before entering a contract.
  • General and business enquiries: I rely on legitimate interests in responding to questions, communicating with business contacts and keeping a proportionate record of our conversation.
  • Running and protecting the website: I rely on legitimate interests in maintaining a reliable website, investigating problems and preventing spam or abuse.
  • Showing my work: I rely on legitimate interests in presenting relevant portfolio examples, subject to applicable agreements and the rights of people shown. Please contact me if you appear in an image and have a privacy concern.
  • Legal requirements: where necessary, I use or retain information to comply with legal obligations or respond to a valid legal request.

Making an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. I do not sell your personal information or use automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who handles your information

I use Krystal Hosting Ltd for website hosting and email services. These services process information needed to host the website, deliver and store messages, provide backups and keep the service secure. Krystal’s data processing agreement describes its responsibilities and its use of service providers.

Access is limited to me and service providers or technical support who need it for their work. Information may also be shared with professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations, resolving a dispute or protecting legal rights. It is not shared with other businesses for their own marketing.

Where information is processed

Krystal is a UK provider, but its service providers may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Its data processing terms provide for safeguards such as adequacy arrangements or contractual clauses where applicable. You can contact me for more information about the arrangements relevant to your information and how to obtain details of the safeguards.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t become client work: I delete the enquiry and related correspondence within 12 months of our last contact, unless I need to keep particular information to resolve an ongoing complaint or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
  • Enquiries that become client work: relevant correspondence becomes part of the client record. It is kept for the time needed to provide the agreed services and meet applicable record-keeping obligations or resolve legal claims. The purpose of the record and the applicable legal requirements determine how long it is needed.
  • Technical logs and backups: retention depends on their operational purpose, the period needed to investigate errors or security incidents and the hosting service’s backup or log-rotation cycle. Deleted information may remain in restricted backup copies until those copies are replaced or expire.

I take proportionate steps to protect information and limit access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Cookies, fonts and videos

The initial website does not use advertising pixels or visitor-analytics cookies. Essential cookies may be used for requested security, login or administrative functions; these are not used for advertising.

For example, WordPress may set a session cookie to check that cookies work when the login screen is visited, and authentication cookies when an administrator signs in. Those login cookies normally last two days, or two weeks if “Remember me” is selected. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies can prevent login functions from working.

Fonts, portfolio images and videos are served from this website’s own hosting. Viewing these pages does not automatically load Google Fonts or a third-party video player. If you follow a link to another website, its own privacy and cookie information will apply.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis used, you can ask to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or receive a portable copy of information you provided. Some rights have exceptions; I’ll explain if an exception applies to your request.

Your right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including the website and business uses described above. I will consider your circumstances and stop that processing unless there is a lawful reason to continue.

Contact Use the contact form to make a request. I may need enough information to confirm your identity, and I normally respond within one month. If I rely on consent for a particular use of your information, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of the earlier use.

Questions or complaints

Please contact me if you’re concerned about how your information is handled. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or telephone 0303 123 1113.

Shop and future changes

The online shop is not open for purchases or customer accounts at this launch. I’ll review this notice before enabling online payments, customer accounts, analytics or other services that change how information is used. Updates will be published on this page with a revised date.
